IRA Required Minimum Distribution and More!
Great news! In December 2015, Congress passed a law allowing the donation of annual required IRA distributions as early as January of a given year. Right now, anyone over the age of 73 can choose to donate their Required Minimum Distribution and any amount up to $100,000 to the charities of their choice.
By using IRA funds in this manner you accomplish two goals; one is that these amounts are not subject to an income tax at all and secondly, you can make a significant difference to the charities you support.
